Aurora Gives Scholars

Through a unique partnership between the CCA Foundation and Aurora Public Schools’ Aurora LIGHTS Career Pathways, the CCA Foundation is providing graduating high school seniors with debt-free access to an associate degree from CCA in two years or less.

Students must be nominated by an Aurora LIGHTS Career Pathways coordinator in order to qualify for the Aurora Gives Scholars scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria: This scholarship requires each recipient to: forego application for and receipt of federal or private student loans; maintain a GPA of 2.5; take consecutive semesters; declare a major; complete his/her degree in two years or less; and participate in financial literacy courses each semester all while enrolled at CCA.

General Scholarships

CCA Foundation scholarships are awarded each academic year and offer students the opportunity to earn an associate degree or its equivalent, establish eligibility to transfer to a four-year institution, or certify in a vocation that provides a family-sustaining wage. Scholarship beneficiaries range from working students to those specializing in specific fields such as math, art and the health occupations.

In addition, there are two paper applications available for Fall 2016. The Early Childhood Education Scholarship, and the Marie Sanchez Scholarship. Please check link(s) for more details. Application Process for General Scholarships

  1. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
    For assistance consider visiting the FAFSA Workroom.
  2. Letter of Recommendation Guidelines and Tips
    It is recommended that you upload two professional references for the scholarship application.
  3. Write an Essay (Essay Guidelines and Tips)
    Essay will need to be uploaded on the scholarship application (step 5).
  4. Access your student email
    CCCS student email is needed to complete online scholarship application.
  5. Complete the NEW CCA Foundation Scholarship Application online


COSI Scholarship:

The Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative (COSI) was created for students that are enrolled in a college course, pursuing a program certificate, or degree program. Scholarship Initiative support is available for Colorado students who qualify for a Pell grant and participate in a degree-seeking program, while completing all coursework with a C or better to remain eligible. Scholarship covers the cost of tuition, fees, and books.

Eligibility Criteria:

Have a completed Financial Aid Application on file with CCA (FAFSA)

Be seeking Degree or Certificate completion at CCA

Be classified as a Colorado Resident for tuition purposes

Be classified as a US Citizen

Be within 250% of PELL eligibility based on the determined Estimated Family Contribution (EFC)

Fall-To-Fall Summer Scholarship: (Summer Opportunity Only)

Fall-to-Fall Summer Scholarship was created to support the college’s goal of facilitating student retention from fall semester to fall semester by supporting the student’s ability to take courses in the summer.

The Fall to Fall scholarship was launched in Summer 2015. In order to qualify, students needed to have attended CCA in the prior fall and spring semesters, be enrolled to take courses during the summer, and commit to re-enrolling in the Fall 2015 semester.

Eligibility Criteria:

Have been enrolled for both Fall 15 and Spring

Be enrolled in minimum of 6 hours for Summer 16

Show intent to enroll in a minimum of 6 hours for Fall 16

Meet general FA requirements including MAP/SAP

May be pell or non-pell eligible
