As Colorado is faced with rebuilding it’s economy, 85% of employers say that the skills gap is a threat to their business. The Community College of Aurora (CCA) provides immediate solutions to employers’ workforce needs through its more than 100 industry certification, certificate, and degree programs.
Thanks to partners like you, CCA Foundation is awarding more than $550,000 per year to assist students to stay on the path to a college credential. Your support allows us to offer hope and opportunity to students through scholarship and program support. More than money, together, we are offering endless possibilities to a better future for each student.
Unfortunately, during the pandemic 1,757 CCA students stopped-out of college even though they had just 15 or fewer credits remaining to earn their credential.
CCA’s Return to Earn initiative will re-engage and re-enroll at least 75 students per year who have stopped-out of college with 45 credits or more toward their degree.
CCA’s Completion Navigator will provide individualized case management and academic supports. Return to Earn is a pay for success model that rewards students with $500-$1,000 in financial assistance after the student successfully completes the semester with a C average or better.
The Anschutz Family Foundation has generously provided a $75,000 matching grant to launch CCA’s Return to Earn initiative. For the $150,000 total project budget, 60,000-$70,000 will be used to support the Completion Navigator’s salary and benefits and other programming expenses, with the remaining $80,000-$90,000 supporting individualized scholarship awards to at least 75 Return to Earn participants.
Our goal is to secure $75,000 in community support by 6/30/2021 and unlock the Anschutz Family Foundation’s generous $75,000 matching grant opportunity.
All gifts to the Return To Earn campaign will receive recognition at the 2021 Scholarship Luncheon virtual event on April 30th and be listed in the campaign press release slated for July 2021. Donors giving $1,000 or more will become members of CCA Foundation’s Leadership Circle, a community of dedicated philanthropists and advocates who play a critical role in advancing CCA’s vision to be the college where every student succeeds.
