Let’s Make Change Happen

Welcome to the new Community College of Aurora Foundation Newsletter!  The Board and Staff of the Foundation are excited to present a new look to go along with the many changes the Foundation has experienced.  On the staff side, we have a new Executive Director, John Wolfkill and a new Development Associate, Joshua Ryines.  John comes to us from KIPP Tulsa College Preparatory in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  He brings a focus on data and fundraising that will guide our work providing scholarships to Community College of Aurora (CCA) students.  Joshua Ryines is one of us! He is a graduate of CCA and has returned after getting a bachelor’s degree at MSU Denver. He brings with him a fresh and unique perspective that will help him support our scholarship recipients achieve their goals.

This year, the board’s focus is on fundraising for scholarships.  The Foundation has transferred control of all land and buildings to the college now that the bonds used to purchase them have been fulfilled.  This historic accomplishment could not have been possible without the heroic efforts of so many over the last 30 years. MORE INFORMATION HERE

I joined the Board because I want to see the students at CCA get the kind of quality education that allows them to achieve their dreams.  I remember college as being one of the defining times for me in my life and I think every young person who wants that experience should be able to grab the opportunity at CCA and turn it into whatever they want it to be. I personally give my time and resources to CCA because I believe in our new executive director, and that one’s zip code or background should not define their destiny.

I am honored to lead this Board as we embark on our new path.  A path I believe leads CCA into an even more prominent role in our community, our state and our nation.  A path that shows others that diversity, inclusion, respect and courage are not just words in a sound bite – but the CCA way of life.  One that lifts up EVERYONE, not just a privileged few, and makes us all better for the experience.

We hope you will join us on this journey! I encourage you to update your information with us so that we can give you direct access to all of CCA’s exciting news and events! CLICK HERE
